- Architecture Unshackled. George Dance & Appropriate Invention
- Abstract
-
Research on the apparent paradox between "unshackled" architecture as it was promoted by George Dance the Younger and its
reception as architecture parlante among his contemporaries. Why did they regard his work appropriate, and what did that mean
for his design practice? How did he put the conditions of contemporary architectural discourse to use in his designs?
Part of the research done for this thesis was generously funded by a grant from the Robert Fruin Fonds.

- The Membrane. From Co-isolation to Co-habitation

MOOC's
- 2014
-
Statistical Learning
(
Stanford University
)
Course on supervised statistical learning. I learn how to create accurate prediction models based on training data, understand how inputs effect outcomes and assess the quality of predictors or influences. The course includes linear regression, modelling in R and support vector learning. - 2014
-
Engineering: Introduction to Databases
(
Stanford University
)
The course focuses on database design, including design in UML, and relational design principles based on dependencies and normal forms. It includes coverage of the relational model, relational algebra, and SQL. - 2014
-
Social and Economic Networks: Models and Analysis
(
Stanford University
)
Course on the modelling and analysis of networks. The course allows one to understand how social network structures impact behavior, which network structures are likely to emerge in a society, and why people organize themselves as they do. - 2013
-
Stat2.3x Introduction to Statistics: Inference
(
BerkeleyX
)
Course on inference that trained my skills of drawing conclusions from numerical data and avoid biases and pitfalls that are common when working with data achieved by way of random sampling. - 2013
-
Data Analysis
(
Johns Hopkins University
)
Applied statistics course focusing on data analysis. Goal of the course is to employ widely used statistical methods to concrete situations, to find the limits of interpreting results, and diagnose potential problems in the analysis. - 2013
-
Energy 101
(
UTAustinX
)
Introductory course on energy technologies, fuels, and the quantitative terminology that often confuses debates on the topic. This course helped me profoundly to get an understanding of the comparative sizes of the energy challenges, problems and solutions society is currently dealing with.
